Predominantly a landscape painter, Alice Boggis-Rolfe (b.1990) takes her paints wherever she goes. Her subject matter stretches from the English countryside to as far afield as Burma and Zambia. Undeterred by storms or downpours, which Alice would argue make the most exciting paintings, she works very fast and on site, usually completing her paintings within a couple of hours. She paints in oils on gesso panels which dry quickly allowing her to build up layers of colour in tight, weather-restricted time frames.
Alice lives and works in London. Since finishing art school, she has exhibited widely in group shows including the New English Art Club, The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters and The Chelsea Arts Club. She had a near sell-out first solo show at The Coningsby Gallery, London in 2015. In 2016 she was awarded the Wedlake Bell award for a Young Artist and the Winsor and Newton First Prize for a Young Artist.
In early 2017, Alice packed up her paints and set off around the world in search of new subject matter. Her adventures took her to Morocco, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Japan, Peru, Cuba and Nepal.
